WA DC #2

Hi. This is Zac. It took me a while to do this one because my computer's charger broke (grrr). So, day 2, Thursday:

We walked over to the White House, looked throught the fence while 40 helicpoters drove in randon circles around the city (shake off pursuit, guys). Then we went to the...umm...woodworking museum?? Anyway, there were lots of old tables and stuff.

Then we walked down to the Washington Monument, took a couple pictures, noted that there are no info boards or anything, and moved on. They only let a certain number of people in (for tours) a day, and the tickets are gone by, like, 0800. Which happens to be 0500 at home. Get over it, I don't have stories from inside the monument. I could make some up, though. It's tall. And it's made of rock. It changes color about 30(?) meters up. Our tour guide Friday night told us that is where it lowers itself into the ground to at night, so planes don't hit it...

Anyway, Then we walked down to the WW2 memorial, which has a cool circular pool and pillars with wreaths and the names of all 50 states on them. Pretty cool. Washington DC is made of a lot of rocks. Marble, I think.

We walked down to the Lincoln Memorial (and this desk is greasy...annoying) and hung out there for a while with the big guy. Looks like a temple.

Vietnam Memorial was next. We walked along for about 45 min, trying to find a name, until someone told us that they are in chronological order and there were books at the ends of the Memorial, alphabetized, showing where each name is. Oh. That would explain the crowds. We eventually found it: Thomas C. Jacobs. Took a rubbing and moved on.

We went next to the International Spy Museum (yeah, yeah...), where we convinced Grandma to go in. We all agreed afterwards it was well worth the 18 bucks.

Went to go find dinner, ended up blowing 125 bucks at an Italian restaurant across the street (food was amazing).

Annd...another exiting chapter in the history of Zac Adams. Historians will thank me someday.
